Dominio dei rospi echoes the experience of encounters with toads during their reproduction by exploring new approaches and techniques. The toads are duplicated in paraffin, a petroleum derivative, from an identical mold, and are then reassembled and fused to create a single hydrophobic entity. The round glass invites the viewer to approach, move, and explore the sculpture in a circular movement. At the same time, the sculpture questions our way of perceiving the individual versus the collective, as well as how we perceive the Other, prompting us to doubt what we see. Although each toad originates from the same negative mold, the resulting structure is unique, a new system forged by the interplay of diverse forces. What appears identical becomes singular, challenging the very structure of repetition, form, and identity.
